Hazel first took formal music lessons at the age of sixteen, due to starting a course in Music Technology that required wider musical knowledge than that already acquired from school. Since that time, she has maintained devotion to further exploration and study in guitar styles including but not limited to: rock, blues and funk.
It did not take Hazel long before joining her first band, writing and performing original material and continues to compose music with others regularly. There is nothing like the joy of performing music with friends – playing an instrument can bring joy and fulfilment like no other activity.
In 2009 Hazel embarked upon studying Sound Engineering and Production at Birmingham City University – later graduating with upper second-class honours. She persists in producing her own music from home, which generally falls under the genre of rock but also toys with making music that isn’t necessarily guitar based.
For a number of years she has enjoyed work A/V Media Technician as well as an artist tutor at mac specialising in teaching music technology and digital music making for both young people and adults. Having undertaken various music programs with the School of Rock & Pop and the Strings Club she currently works alongside Yamaha Music School. Taking from these experiences, she now offers private tuition in Birmingham and Solihull to all ages, all abilities and all styles -specially tailored to suit the learner.
